►   NOVEMBER  2020:  CRICKET WEEKEND!   Full details on www.sarasotacricket.org  For players and spectatators.  Lots of expat Brits from Florida attend this.  This club founded by Sarasota-based  cricket aficionado Englishman Laurence Parry.      Get ready for a weekend full of fun.  Sarasota International Cricket Club will be hosting its Annual Six-a-Side Cricket Festival, a 3 day event.  Open to players (aged 18 and up) of all skill levels. ► POLO–the season runs November to April in Florida.  The sport of English princes.  Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry are all players and aficionados.  PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL POLO CLUB in Wellington. Neither do I.   But you can ogle these triumphs of British engineering, along with vintage Rolls Royces, MG’s, Triumphs, Mini Coopers, Jensens, Morris Minors and other magic motors at the annual British Classic Car Show.  It’s a hugely successful, well-organised event,  hundreds of British car owners and admirers attend and I spend the day there most years.  Part of the fun is bumping into Britpals you haven’t seen for ages, some of whom are as old as the cars they’re drooling over.  British booths and vendors, British foods etc there too.
